BIOGRAPHY
Willem de Bruijn is an artist and academic based in Bournemouth, UK. He teaches contextual studies on the BA and Master of Architecture courses at the Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) and also supervises research degrees in the arts. He is a member of the Black Mirror Research Network and editor of the exhibition catalogue Black Mirror: Magic in Art, published by TheGallery, AUB, in 2017. His doctoral thesis entitled Book-Building: A Historical and Theoretical Investigation into Architecture and Alchemy (2010) examines the role of the book in bringing architecture and alchemy together within a space of social, cultural and material transformations.
