BIOGRAPHY
Shandra E. Lamaute is an archaeologist and art historian. Shandra is currently a DPhil student in Archaeology at the University of Oxford. Her interests fall within the area of the visual and material cultures of magic in late antiquity and early Byzantium. Shandra’s work looks to suggest new pathways of research for amulets held within museum contexts. Her dissertation is a case study of an early Byzantine bronze amulet where she explores the object from a holistic perspective inclusive of sensory archaeology, societal contexts, material, and materiality.
