BIOGRAPHY
Dr Robert J. Wallis is Professor of Visual Culture, Associate Dean and Convenor of the MA in Art History and Visual Culture in the School of Communications, Arts and Social Sciences at Richmond University, the American International University in London. He is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London and a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute. His books include Shamans/Neo-Shamans, Historical Dictionary of Shamanism (with Graham Harvey), A Permeability of Boundaries?: New Approaches to the Archaeology of Art, Religion, and Folklore (with Kenneth Lymer), Sacred Sites, Contested Rites/Rights (with Jenny Blain) and Galdrbok: Practical Heathen Runecraft, Shamanism and Magic (with Nathan Johnson). He is currently working on a monograph critically examining the interface between Art and Shamanism, from Cave Painting to the White Cube.
