Mike Daines

BIOGRAPHY

Mike Daines is a graphic designer whose projects have spanned the design discipline from publication and print design to work in motion, interactive and advertising. His time at Imaginary Forces in Hollywood included work for clients including MTV, Nike, Columbia Pictures, Dreamworks, ABC, Science Channel, Pepsi and Comedy Central, in collaboration with agencies including Young & Rubicam, Ogilvy & Mather and BBDO. He has also worked extensively in advertising at Kastner & Partners in Los Angeles, where the client roster includes Red Bull, Adidas and Qualcomm. Mike’s other creative endeavours have included work for or in collaboration with Billabong, The Ebeling Group, J. Walter Thompson, Macy’s, Cranbrook Academy of Art and Cranbrook Art Museum. His work has been exhibited at the 3rd Ward Gallery, NYC; Slingluff Gallery, Philadelphia, PA; Forum Gallery, Bloomfield Hills, MI; Cranbrook Art Museum, Bloomfield Hills, MI; and the AIGA Design RE:View 2009 exhibition in Detroit, where his Cranbrook studio work received a judge’s award for experimental design. His branding work has been published in LogoLounge 4, LogoLounge Master Library, Volume 1 and LogoLounge Master Library, Volume 3 by Rockport Publishers. He has previously taught at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Architecture.
